Born near Dammam, Saudi Arabia, Aasim Zahoor Jan attended the National Institute of Technology in Karnataka, India, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering in 2019. From 2019 to 2021, Mr. Jan pursued a Master of Science in Physics at the Center for Computational Relativity and Gravitation, Rochester Institute of Technology. Currently, he is a third-year Physics Ph.D. candidate at the Center for Gravitational Physics, The University of Texas at Austin, where his research involves using Numerical Relativity to study gravitational waves radiated by binary black hole systems and using data analysis tools to analyze data gathered by LIGO detectors.
